Fragmentation is a combination of abstract and realistic imagery. It is the patching of independent geometrical windows which in the end create a harmonious figurative continuum. Unlike cubism, Fragmentation breaks down the image without re-arranging it; instead, it attempts to incorporate magnifying effects through texture, light, shade.
I navigate between Total and Partial Fragmentation depending on the subject matter and the desired effect. In Total Fragmentation, windows are contiguously distributed throughout the entire painting. In Partial Fragmentation, a few windows are strategically positioned to breakdown the patterns of traditional paintings.
